Teacher of the Month

The Teacher of the Month (TOTM) program awards one teacher each month for his/her outstanding performance in teaching and their contribution to the students at their school and within our community.

The program has ten presentations, with the first in September and then continuing once a month, throughout the school year. Nominations are submitted by the principals and PTA groups at each of the Ventura Unified School District schools. Honorees are presented with certificates of recognition from our local government officials and receive donated gifts from many Ventura Chamber of Commerce businesses. Businesses that participate in recognizing these outstanding teachers donate 10 items; one for each presentation. They are then invited to attend each presentation at the school site and present their gift to the teacher being honored.

With this program, the Ventura Commerce & Education Foundation sends a clear message to these teachers that the business community supports and values their dedication to the children of Ventura.
