On May 23rd the Ventura Chamber presented its semi-annual business expo at the beautiful Four Points Sheraton hotel on the Ventura Harbor; and this time, the theme was California Dreamin’, which represented everything California, from the golden sandy beaches to the majestic snow covered mountains.
The expo played host to 65 exhibitors, five of which were food vendors who served their delicious cuisine to fellow exhibitors and spectators. As usual, the exhibitors got creative with the designs of their booths, putting up such decorations as surfboards, boogie boards, and the beach. Ventura County Fairgrounds took home the award for Best Booth with their tribute to all things California, from the beautiful city of San Francisco, to the Oscars, and even to the freeways that Californians know and love so much. The booths were not the only thing dressed up that night, exhibitors and spectators got creative with their own costumes, which represented the easy going and free spirited nature of California.
The most anticipated moment that evening was the unveiling of the Chamber’s new and improved website. Sam Benner of Benner Marketing Group has been working tirelessly on the website for the past two and a half months, and along with Chamber CEO Ed Summers and Deputy Mayor Cheryl Heitmann unveiled the new website to the crowded room at the expo with a ribbon cutting.
The hotel was packed as spectators from all over Ventura County came to see and be a part of this great event; even City Manager Mark Watkins took time out of his busy schedule to come and support the Chamber and its members.
The Chamber would also like to thank Ventura TowneHouse for their generous donation of a 46” LCD flat screen TV as the grand prize raffle, Chamber Ambassador volunteers, and most especially to our event sponsors: City of Ventura, Four Points Sheraton, VC Star, Ventura Breeze, Community Memorial Hospital, Cypress Place Senior Living, VC Reporter.
